“Pop Toy Venus” is an original contemporary painting by PVettese, created in 2026 using mixed media on canvas, measuring 55 x 46 x 2 cm. The work reinterprets Botticelli’s *The Birth of Venus* through the lens of Pop Art, Street Art, and LEGO toys.

Venus occupies nearly the entire composition. Her serene face is framed by long, copper-colored hair, the movement of which gives structure to the canvas. In her hands, she holds her own double in the form of a small toy figure inspired by LEGO, creating an immediate dialogue between art history and contemporary popular culture.

The background contrasts with the softness of the portrait: bright orange, turquoise, pink, green, and black overlap with splashes, drips, inscriptions, and graphic elements inspired by street art. The words “love,” “pop art,” and “freedom” appear directly on her arm.
This encounter between Botticelli’s Venus and the world of toys allows PVettese to juxtapose tenderness and chaos, classical references and graphic freedom, innocence and the contemporary world.
The vibrant color palette and the spectacular movement of the hair give “Pop Toy Venus” a strong visual presence, while preserving the central character’s gentleness.
